The short version
We collect what the app needs to work and nothing else. We don't sell or share your data, we don't run ads, and there is no analytics or tracking code in this app at all. We never ask for your location.
What we hold
A phone number or an email address, because that is how you sign in. The name, username and city you chose, and the seed that draws your face. What you did in the app: your challenges, squads, goals, streak, cowries and badges.
Your city is a choice, not a location
You pick it from a list. It is never read from your device, never stored as a coordinate, and never narrower than a city. We do not ask for location permission and the app has no code that could use it.
Apple Health
If you connect it, we read four things: steps, distance, workouts and sleep. We read them only for the dates a challenge covers, and only to settle it. We never write anything back to Health — the app ships without permission to, so it could not even if a future version tried. Your friends see whether you hit the target, never the numbers behind it.
Finding people you know
If you let us check your contacts, your phone turns each number into a code and sends only the codes. Names never leave your device. We compare the codes against people already here and then delete them — we keep no copy and we never message anyone. A code is not the same as anonymous: a phone number is short enough that somebody holding a list of codes could work backwards. What we promise is what we do — we don't keep them.
What other people see
Your name, username, city and face, and your win-loss record on the boards. Not your phone number, not your email, not your health numbers. You can turn off being found by strangers in You, which takes you off the city and global boards and stops challenges from people you don't know.
No money, anywhere
Cowries, gems and badges are awarded for playing. They cannot be bought, sold, traded or cashed out, and the app holds no payment details because there is nothing to pay for.
Deleting your account
You can delete it in You, in the app. Your name, username, number, city, face, cowries, badges, streak, goals, health readings and messages go immediately. Two things stay without your name on them: challenges you played, because the result is your opponent's record too, and the days you finished in a squad, because the squad's shared streak is built from them. You appear as a former player.
Who we send data to
Our own server, and the services that make sign-in work: an SMS provider for your code, or an email provider. Apple handles speech recognition if you use the microphone button. That is the whole list.
Young people
This app is rated 12+. We do not profile anyone for advertising, because we do not advertise. We do not publish anybody's location, and the city you pick is as precise as it gets.
